RAPHA VETIVER ENGINEERING LTD
Rapha Vetiver Engineering (Rapha) is a private limited company established in 2015 to actively contribute to the restoration of Kenya’s environment through providing sustainable and natural solutions to address the problems of Deforestation, Land degradation, Soil erosion and Siltation of Water bodies.
More specifically Rapha uses indigenous and exotic trees, vetiver bio-engineering system and bamboo for afforestation and reforestation, catchment restoration, gully rehabilitation, flood and soil erosion control and preventing siltation in dams, pans, drains, culverts and other waterways. And as a result, improved livelihoods and enabling food security through enriched soils for better yields besides by-products benefits from Indigenous Trees, vetiver grass and Bamboo such as furniture, fodder, quality handcrafts, briquettes for biofuel, thatching, mulching, medicine etc. Also, communities are trained on importance of tree planting and maintenance and control of runoff on-farm and storing in-situ for better soils and better yields and protection of water storage facilities like dams, pans, lakes using vetiver bio-engineering technology which is a permanent environment-friendly solution to soil instability and flood disasters.
